Dear Member of Congress [Name]:

As your constituent, I have a plea. I am writing today to ask for your support of the Campaign for Judicial Integrity [in our state]. I am sure that every day you have a multitude of bills crossing your desk. Nevertheless, please pay specific attention to those affecting the judicial system [in our state] and our nation.

Necessarily, these bills involve stopping any judge from receiving payments from attorneys who practice in their district. Unfortunately, judicial campaign finance abuse in Louisiana has created bias and has unbalanced the scales of justice. Clearly, this situation demands pressing and serious attention.

Section 1346 of Title 18

Responsively, we need to pass bills promoting Section 1346 of Title 18United States Code. This section provides an intangible right to honest services.  Earlier, federal prosecutors have applied the statute in cases of public corruption. Additionally, they have applied it in cases where private individuals breached a fiduciary duty to another. Remember, these payments have affected every aspect of the court system.

Right now is the time for action. I urge you to get the amendment passed. [Insert specific bill here, if advocating for passage of particular piece of legislation].

As a supporter of Motion to Quash LLC, I belong to a non-partisan organization dedicated to advocating for Judicial Integrity. We raise awareness of the Campaign for Judicial Integrity in Louisiana. I urge you to protect the integrity of the judicial system by supporting legislation on its behalf this session. [Or insert this important piece of legislation].

I await your reply. Specifically, the positive steps you are taking to Advocate for Judicial Integrity in Louisiana. Consider both the immediate and long-term future. [Or what specific action you plan to take on this particular piece of legislation, etc.].

Sincerely,
[Insert Your Name]
